A heavy, dark, visionary tune . . . a weighty thoughtfulness at odds with the beat, as if the listener were sitting on the street of a busy city, in a trance, people racing around, impulsive, busy, unknowing, bright and shiny. A darkness is hovering over the listener sitting and alone, yet spiritually in another place, a quiet place . . . and a weighty dream is oppressing him, his eyelids flicker . . and then are still.
This music is peaceful and quiet, dark and still, meaningful and dreamy. Yet the listener can find the brightness, some edginess, and a far distant vision. Beautiful music, an example of a style useful for both a relaxing stillness or active situations . . .

Gotard成立于2005年，早期风格倾向于电子与氛围混合，后受到欧洲中世纪音乐启示，开始潜心做中古。其中近期的Sigurd与Astrolabium两张专辑做的越发比较成熟，受到多方赞许。2008年的专辑Sigurd里涵盖了前几张DEMO的部分曲目。Gotard的音乐大部分是关于斯堪地纳维亚英雄西格尔德的传说，最为动人的地方在于轻缓的旋律不经意吟唱起来的女声，美丽原始，黑暗沉寂，神秘而渺远。除了带电，其他都喜欢。
